The Height Adjustable Extending Jib is a highly versatile lifting attachment designed to enhance the capability of forklift trucks and telehandlers. Building on the features of the standard incline fixed jib, this model provides the added advantage of adjustable angular lifts, enabling operators to safely handle tall, awkward, or elevated loads. By increasing the effective lift height, the jib allows materials to be positioned with greater precision, making it an invaluable tool for construction, industrial, and warehousing applications.
Operating the jib is straightforward and efficient. The forklift forks are positioned at the correct width and driven fully into the fork pockets after removing the heel pins. These pins are then reinserted behind the fork heels and secured with safety lynch pins. Swivel hooks and shackles can be positioned at the required lifting points and tightened securely. To adjust the jib length, the operator simply removes the locating pin, extends or retracts the boom until the alignment holes match, and replaces the pin. Height adjustment is equally simple: the angular pin and lynch pin are removed, the extension beam is raised to the desired angle, and the pins are replaced to lock the setting in place. Once these steps are completed, the attachment is ready for safe lifting operations.
To ensure long-term reliability, the Height Adjustable Extending Jib requires weekly inspections. Critical areas include weld points, fork pockets, heel pin attachments, swivel hooks, shackles, and the condition and alignment of the extending boom. Any damage or worn components must be addressed immediately, and surface rust should be treated with appropriate primers and coatings. The attachment is supplied with a six-month certification from the date of manufacture, after which it must be re-tested or formally inspected in accordance with HSE guidelines.
Safe operation is essential, and all personnel must be fully trained in the jib’s use, maintenance, and limitations. Heel pins and shackle pins must be correctly secured before every lift, and the forklift mast must remain vertical at all times. Operators should never shock load the attachment, exceed the safe working load, or enter the fork pockets without first removing the heel pins. The compatibility of both the forklift and attachment with the intended load must always be confirmed prior to use.
The jib is equipped with a range of practical and safety-focused features, including multi-hook positioning from 950–3850 mm load centres, adjustable lift angles of 0°, 15°, 30°, and 45°, and two supplied swivel hooks for flexible lifting configurations. It accommodates forks up to 150 × 50 mm at 350 mm centres and uses zinc-plated heel pins for secure attachment. Finished in a high-visibility bright orange coating, the Height Adjustable Extending Jib combines durability, safety, and functionality in one robust lifting solution.
