The Fork Mounted Low-Profile Jib is specifically designed for lifting and maneuvering long or awkward loads in areas where height is limited. Its compact design allows it to operate in tight or inaccessible spaces while providing up to five adjustable lifting centres, giving operators the flexibility to position loads safely and efficiently. Supplied with a swivel hook and bow shackles, the jib enables secure handling of a wide variety of materials.
Operation of the jib is straightforward and reliable. Forks are positioned to align with the fork pockets, the heel pins are removed, and the forks are driven fully into the pockets. The heel pins are then reinserted directly behind the fork heels and locked in place with safety lynch pins. The swivel hook and shackle can be adjusted to the desired lifting point and tightened to ensure secure lifting. Once these steps are completed, the attachment is ready for immediate use.
Durability and safety are central to the jib’s design. The attachment accommodates forklift forks up to 150 × 50 mm at 281 mm centres, with zinc-plated heel pins providing secure attachment and long-lasting resistance to wear. Four-way pocket entry allows for convenient storage, while the bright orange finish ensures high visibility in busy work environments.
Regular inspection and maintenance are essential for safe operation. The jib should be checked weekly, focusing on weld points, fork pockets, heel pins, swivel hook, safety latch, and shackle for signs of wear or damage. Any defects must be addressed immediately, and surface rust should be treated regularly. Certified for six months from the date of manufacture, the attachment must be re-tested or inspected by a competent person thereafter, in accordance with HSE guidance.
Strict adherence to health and safety guidelines is required. Operators must be trained in the correct use of the jib, ensuring heel pins and shackle pins are properly secured, only vertical lifts are made, and safe working loads are never exceeded. Side pockets are for positional use only, and shock or angular loading must be avoided. By following these procedures, the Fork Mounted Low-Profile Jib provides a safe, reliable, and efficient solution for lifting in constrained spaces.
