The HALO 80 Blast Resistant Litter Bin provides a robust solution to the threat of terrorist attacks in busy public areas by protecting against the blast and fragments of an explosive device and reducing overpressure.

Tested to UK Home Office Standards (2011), this non-fragmenting blast resistant bin is specifically designed to safeguard the public and structures from blast effects in sensitive locations such as airports, government buildings, stadiums and shopping centres.

The unit incorporates SABREMAT composite technology which enables the bin to absorb and mitigate the lethal effects of explosions. A standard litter bin will fragment under blast loading spreading the lethal blast effects further, whilst the shell of the HALO 80 remains intact providing all-round horizontal protection, with the lid disintegrating into harmless particles.

This functional product has a high charge capability and is designed to work even when the explosive device detonates near the side or bottom of the unit, unlike many alternative solutions. It is easy to clean and empty, and features bolt down mounting for enhanced security.
