Traditional sandbags have long been the go-to solution for creating a flood barrier against rising water. Still, they present significant logistical challenges: they are heavy, cumbersome, messy, and require immediate access to large quantities of sand, which can be challenging during a large-scale emergency.

How FloodSax Works
FloodSax uses a highly absorbent polymer stored within a durable, needle-punched fabric casing. When dry, FloodSax are incredibly lightweight and easy to handle, weighing around 200g.

Activation: To activate, simply introduce the dry sack to water. This can be done by immersing it in a bath, sink, or directly into floodwater.

Absorption and Expansion: The internal polymer rapidly absorbs up to 20 litres of water, transforming the sack into a firm, gel-like barrier weighing over 20kg and measuring 400 x 360 x 150mm. This transformation takes three minutes for partial activation and just five minutes for full activation.

Barrier Formation: Once fully activated, the expanded FloodSax can be stacked up to 1.2m and positioned exactly like a traditional sandbag, creating a robust, hydrostatic seal to divert or block floodwater from entering a property.
