The Universal Fixing Frame is designed to securely attach the top section of a 500mm (20-inch) rubbish chute system to scaffolding on building, construction and demolition sites. It provides a secure mounting point for the uppermost chute, allowing additional chute sections to be connected below to create an effective system for removing construction waste from height.
Recommended for use with systems containing up to 10 rubbish chutes, the fixing frame has a stated combined load of 100–150kg, including the bracket weight, subject to the manufacturer's installation and loading requirements. Weighing 15kg and supplied in black as standard, this robust frame is designed for practical use on construction sites where reliable chute support is essential.
Installation of the Universal Fixing Frame
The fixing frame is installed onto two ledger beams incorporated into the scaffolding structure, positioned approximately 300mm apart. Suitable double couplers are used to secure the ledger beams and attach the fixing frame to the scaffolding. Before installation, the supporting scaffold structure, couplers and complete chute assembly must be confirmed as suitable for the intended loads, and all work must follow the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Once the frame is securely installed, the top rubbish chute is connected to the short chains provided on the fixing frame. Additional 500mm chute sections can then be connected beneath it to form the required chute system. A top hopper can also be fitted into the uppermost chute section to provide a convenient opening for depositing waste. The final hopper height will depend on the position of the fixing frame and the configuration of the chute system.
The Universal Fixing Frame is a practical accessory for compatible 500mm rubbish chutes, helping contractors establish a suitable scaffold-mounted waste disposal system for construction, renovation and demolition projects.
